Created for exhibition at Blue Hills Round Top, “Feelin’ Willie Good” is a vibrant wood mosaic portrait celebrating Texas music legend Willie Nelson. Constructed from individually cut and painted pine wood tiles, this piece transforms natural materials into a bold and expressive tribute to one of country music’s most beloved icons. Willie’s unmistakable features – his braided hair, weathered smile, and signature hat – emerge through carefully layered color and tone. The vivid hues of his shirt and hatband contrast against the rich blue background, bringing warmth and personality to the composition. 

Owing to the use of natural materials, the artwork should be maintained in a temperature-controlled environment, safeguarded from moisture and direct sunlight, to ensure the preservation of its beauty and structural integrity. Beyond its aesthetic qualities, this piece also functions as an effective sound diffuser, enhancing the acoustical character of any space.
