Big Hair, Don’t Care

$10,500, 77” x 47”

“Big Hair Don’t Care” is a commissioned portrait honoring the iconic Dolly Parton. The piece is constructed from hundreds of hand-cut wood tiles arranged to create depth, color variation, and texture across the surface of the work. Custom metallic detailing is incorporated throughout the portrait, adding light and reflective dimension that captures Dolly’s signature glamour. One of the defining elements of the piece is the dramatic three-dimensional sculpting of Dolly’s hair. Layers of wood tiles extend outward from the surface, creating movement and volume that bring the portrait to life while echoing Dolly’s famously bold hairstyle. “Big Hair Don’t Care” celebrates both the personality and enduring cultural influence of one of music’s most beloved icons.

Owing to the use of natural materials, the artwork should be maintained in a temperature-controlled environment, safeguarded from moisture and direct sunlight, to ensure the preservation of its beauty and structural integrity. Beyond its aesthetic qualities, this piece also functions as an effective sound diffuser, enhancing the acoustical character of any space.
